Napa has always been on my must see places to travel to, so when my friend Michelle and her husband had a two bedroom condo booked as a gift and invited us to spend a few days with them, we jumped at the chance! We had such an amazing four days together and left with so many great memories!
We spent the first day touring San Francisco, had lunch at Fisherman’s wharf overlooking Alcatraz, watching the seals sunning themselves on the dock. It was a chilly mid fifty degree weather day but we lucked out with sunshine and no fog! We also walked to the Ghiradelli chocolate factory, and then up the steep incline to Lombard Street to see views of the city, ending the day seeing the Golden Gate Bridge.
The next three days we spent touring the beautiful wineries Napa countryside. They did not dissapoint, from stunning views to beautiful castles, each one had it’s own unique quality. Some ones we visited:
Sebastiani Winery, Bump, BV Vineyard, Chateau Montelena, Raymond Vineyards, Domaine Carneros, Beringer, Castello Di Amorosa, Rutherford Ranch, Kuleto Estate, Provenance, Foley Johnson, Sterling, and so many more! Whew I am tired thinking of it! 🙂
We also had breakfast one morning at Auberge de Soleil, which was amazing and worth the views and price! It’s also nice to have friends who are wine clubs members of some of Napa’s sister wineries, we barely had to pay for any tasting fees, which can be steep in Napa!
My favorite region had to be St Helena. The town is so quaint and the wineries in my opinion are the best in the Napa region. Napa itself is a little bigger and more commercialized. However if you want a great burger you have to hit Gott’s Roadside burgers, so delicious!
I can’t wait to see you next year Napa!
So pretty!! Looks like a great trip!!! I’d love to go back there sometime!!!
